AFEC:
Engenho Coradini's Employees' Association.
In the 1980’s, the company’s employees used to organize gatherings on one of the group’s farms, in the countryside of Dom Pedrito. Employees from all sectors took part in activities such as soccer, volleyball and card games. During the 1986 end of the year celebration, a group of employees had the idea of establishing an employees' association. With each group meeting, this project grew and matured and eventually the company’s board of directors agreed with the project.
On the 21st of October, 1993, the founding minute was drawn up. An electoral committee was also appointed and, on October 26 of the same year, the first election for the association's board of directors was held. The following day, the winning team took office and its members began voting for the approval of AFEC statutes.
At the beginning of 1995, Engenho Coradini’s board of directors provided AFEC with a space for the construction of the association’s headquarters. As a result, successive boards of directors as their main goal the raising of funds to begin the construction of the building. A partnership with the company’s board of directors was signed and the construction was finalized in December of 2000. On December 22, 2002, the association's headquarters was officially inaugurated with a celebration of employees and board of directors.
Currently, the AFEC headquarters’ building continues to hold celebrations between employees, in addition to holding events for people outside the company, such as birthday parties, weddings and other ceremonies in general.
