HACCP Certification.
Engenho Coradini achieved HACCP Codex Alimentarius certification, which is granted only to organizations that have implemented a strict control system regarding food safety. To receive this certification, which is internationally recognized, Engenho Coradini was audited by the SGS group (Société Générale de Surveillance), the largest global body in the area of inspections, verifications and certifications.
The adopted program, HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points), is known in the country as APPCC (Análise de Perigos e Pontos Críticos de Controle) and adds the GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) - or BPF (Boas Práticas de Fabricação) in Portuguese - program. HACCP and GMP are quality programs used worldwide, aiming to guarantee the quality of products processed by the company. These programs seek to make the management system more preventive and less corrective, within international standards.
This certificate represents a distinction in the rice industry, it refers to the compliance of the Management System with food safety precepts, in the stages of receiving raw materials, production and dispatch of the product. According to current legislation in Brazil, in order to a company provide paid storage services to third parties for agricultural products, their derivatives, by-products and waste, a Storage Unit Certification is required.
